The Shared Surrogate offers extra privacy by hiding your home IP Address behind the Browser Surrogates IP Address. Destination websites will see the Surrogates IP Address which prevents them from attributing your Browser fingerprint and web browsing to your IP Address.
Check out the example below, which shows how this service will hide your IP Address from destination websites.
Here we can see my Home IP Address and Location information. This information is provided by the destination website based on the information it can see from my web traffic.
Here im using FoxyProxy Extension in my FireFox Browser to quickly enable the Browser Surrogate. You can see it is as simple as saving the Surrogate IP Address and Port number and then selecting the Browser Surrogate from the dropdown of the Extension.
Now im validating the same website is now seeing the Browser Surrogate IP Address instead of my Home IP Address. You can see in the image the destination website sees me half-way across the world.
