The Dedicated Surrogate provides the same benefits as the Shared Surrogate but with more Features.
One additional feature is the Custom Whitelist. This feature allows the user to build a Whitelist of domains they need to access. This means, while using the Surrogate you wont be able to browse to any other domain except what has been explicitly Whitelisted.
This is an incredibly powerful security feature, for example, no matter how convincing a phishing email is if you click a link and it does not go to a Whitelisted domain the Surrogate will not allow you to browse to that URL. This feature ensures you stay on pre-defined websites while you are browsing online.
To take advantage of this feature of your Dedicated Surrogate we have to build your Whitelist. The easiest way to do this is to have you use the Surrogate to visit all the domains you want Whitelisted. This is known as a “learning period”. After the “learning period” the Whitelist can be built using the Surrogate’s logs. I can also send you the Whitelist for modification and approval to ensure only approved domains are added.
As you use the Whitelist you may periodically want to add or remove domains. This can be accomplished by sending a message to ‘helpdesk@browsersurrogate.com’ from the email address you used to sign-up for Browser Surrogate services, and the proposed changes you want made, for example new Domains to add to the Whitelist, or Domains to remove from the Whitelist.
